AUDIO VALVES: 6J5, CV1933, VT-94, OCTAL TRIODE

The 6J5 triode was introduced in early 1936.  It has equivalence to CV1933 and VT-94.The 6J5 device electrode cage is formed on a 17 mm diameter pinch resulting in a 25mm outer diameter with an approx. 50mm height. The glass base is bonded to a metal tube envelope with evacuation occurring through the base as is the case with its ST enveloped brother.

Praised for longevity, lack of microphonics and sound quality allayed to superb heat dissipation, these are beautiful compact devices which do service where height of the glass version is a challenge.

The 6J5 is effectively one half of a 6SN7GT.  It can be used in place off the 6J5G  in many classic and exotic valve amplifiers such as:
